Stretch Form

Using our three Stretch Presses we can stretch form many sizes and shapes of aluminum sheet metal parts.

This forming process involves stretch forming a sheet of aluminum over a male stretch form block (STFB) using a pneumatic and hydraulic stretch press commonly known as a Erco Stretch Press.  This process is used to form various aircraft skins (e.g. fuselage, wing, flap, tail, etc.) and other sheet metal parts that have compound contours requiring precise aerospace tolerances.

Stretch formed parts are also many times chem milled to reduce weight and/or allow clearance for mating parts.
